Neal M. Blitz, DPM, FACFAS, a pioneer in tarsal coalition surgery, is a Board Certified Reconstructive Foot & Ankle Surgeon, with 13 years of major experience. Dr. Blitz’ focus on tarsal coalition is to remove the blockage to restore motion of the foot along with performing procedures to improve the overall alignment. Importantly, Dr. Blitz typically is able to avoid drastic fusion procedures – especially in young patients. Patients (along with their families) have travelled from all over the world to have surgery with Dr. Blitz in Manhattan, New York City. We understand the needs of patients (which are usually adolescents) with tarsal coalition.
In addition to his work on tarsal coalition, Dr. Blitz is an innovator in the field of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is the creator of the Bunionplasty® procedure, and developed a provisionally patented medical implant for the treatment of bunions, which is nationally commercialized. His published techniques/protocols on bunion surgery recovery are revolutionary as it allows patients to get back on their feet fast.
Dr. Blitz is known internationally in the medical community because of his dozens of publications related to Foot & Ankle Surgery, magazines, blogs, and surgical textbooks. His surgical techniques and treatment algorithms are used by surgeons today. His research has won awards and he has lectured to his colleagues.
